Denis Payne, Chaplain, M.Div., Chaplain
Denis Payne is a Chaplain for Harbor Hospice of Missouri in Lee’s Summit, MO. He has been a hospice chaplain for 10 years. Denis received a BS of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from Kansas State University, M.Div and DMin (ABD) from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and 6 units of resident CPE from St Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis. He is a veteran of the US Army serving 16 years. He is a member of the Veteran Committee with MHPCA. Denis is married (27 years), and has 3 children (20, 18, 16).

Donna Stevenson, BSN, Ambassador with Opus Peace, ELNEC trainer and certified to contact Virtual Dementia Tours
Donna received her BSN degree from Mid America University in Olathe Ks and started her nursing career at Olathe Medical Center 25 years ago. Currently Donna works as the Clinical Educator for KC Hospice and Palliative Care in KCMO where she has found her passion for working with new employees and educating EOL care. Donna has worked as an hospice admission nurse, assistant professor of nursing at MidAmerica University, charge nurse in rehab and office nurse in family care. Donna resides in Olathe KS with her husband of 33 years.

Stephanie Turner, RN, CHPN.
Stephanie is an Opus Peace Ambassador and has led several Opus Peace Leadership Intensives. She is certified in End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) and also an ELNEC trainer. Stephanie is currently enrolled in the University of Missouri Kansas City RN-BSN program with anticipation of graduating in December 2021.

After completing this seminar, participants should be able too…

  • Participants will increase their knowledge about We Honor Veterans program.
  • Participants will know how to report completed requirements.
  • Participants will be able to describe how they will integrate We Honor Veterans at their location.
  • The learner will understand how veteran pinning presentations can be done virtually.
  • The learner will be able to articulate the steps needed in preparation for the virtual pinning ceremony.
  • The learner will be able to develop a plan for implementation of virtual pinning ceremonies in their organization.

Seminar Information:

The cost for this all day seminar is $130.00 for members & $150.00 for non-members.
No late fee!
There are no refunds, however substitutions are  welcome.
This seminar provides 4  Social Worker CE hours.

Upon completion of this course each attendee will be required to complete an evaluation. Each participant will then  receive a certificate. Each attendee must complete the entire course to receive CE credits. Certificates will be distributed to attendees upon signing out of the seminar. Missouri Hospice & Palliative Care Association, #1359, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved  Continuing Education (ACE) program. Missouri Hospice & Palliative Care Association maintains responsibility for the program.  ASWB Approval Period: 2/28/20- 2/28/23. Social workers should contact their  regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits. Social workers participating in this course will receive __4_  continuing education clock hours.
