Event: Long Term Care Regulations and the Impact on Residents Receiving Hospice Care Teleconference

Speaker: Shelly Williamson, Administrator, Section for Long-Term Care Regulation

Shelly Williamson is the Administrator for the Section for Long-Term Care Regulation with the Department of Health and Senior Services. Ms. Williamson began employment with the Section in 1995 as a Facility Surveyor, became the Assistant Administrator in 2011 and the Administrator in 2017. She currently serves as a Regional Representative for the Association of Health Facility Survey Agencies which represents state survey agencies across the country. She is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a Master of Science in Social Gerontology.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the new long term care regulations and the impact those regulations have on residents receiving hospice care.
    Review of the new requirements for long term care facilities, specifically focusing on those requirements that impact residents receiving hospice care.
  • Review the new long term care survey process.
    Review of the new long term care survey process and the critical element pathways used to determine compliance with regulations.

There will be a $10 fee for Nurses CE’s.
This is an advanced level teleconference.

Upon completion of this course each attendee will be required to complete a evaluation & sign in sheet and return to MHPCA via email to Crystal at crystal@mohospice.org. Each participant will then receive a certificate. Each attendee must complete the entire course to receive CE credits.
