- 31,342 hospice patients were served in Missouri
- DHSS reports 106 licensed hospice programs in Missouri
- Hospice volunteers contributed 302,882 hours
- Average length of enrollment in hospice care was 73.5 days; median length of service was 28 days; 27.29% of hospice patients has length of stay 7 days or less; 12.01% of hospice patients has length of stay over 6 months
- Hospice admissions at home were 49.84%, Nursing Home 37.27%
- Hospice Patients by diagnosis 38.00% cancer; 12.03% Heart; 12.44% dementia; 13.40% general debility/failure to thrive; 8.40% lung
- Residence at time of death: 45.51% at home; 39.15% in nursing home; 7.30% in hospital; 6.88% hospice inpatient facility; 0.47% residential care facility
